Pay for Performance has been a part of the healthcare landscape since the implementation of the ACA in 2010. Even before that time, CMS was working toward reimbursement based on value versus volume. As hospitals struggle with decreasing reimbursement from fee for service and DRG’s, many payers have moved to either bonus pay or penalties to reward high quality and safe care. Jeffrey and Debra use data analytics to assess the impact of Value Based Purchasing, Healthcare Acquired Conditions and Readmission rates on an organization’s overall financial performance. This includes prioritizing initiatives to improve patient safety and cost of care, leading to improved quality, increased efficiency and greater value  for the patient and organization. The following articles and presentations relate specifectly to value based care initiatives.
