Jeff Harrison is the Chair of the Department of Public Health at the University of North Florida and is a Professor in the Health Administration Program. As Chair of the Department of Public Health, Jeff has administrative responsibility for the undergraduate and graduate programs in Health Administration, Public Health and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. He teaches courses in Healthcare Strategic Planning, Healthcare Finance and Health Information Technology.

Jeff has over twenty-five years as a Healthcare Executive including Chief Operating Officer of a hospital, Health System Executive, and Senior Executive in the Health Insurance Industry.

Committed to lifelong learning, Jeff initially completed a Masters in Business Administration at the College of William and Mary.  Subsequently, he was competitively selected for a full scholarship from the Navy which led to his MHA degree from the Medical College of Virginia in 1977. Later in his career he was selected by a Board convened by the Chief of Naval Personnel for a full scholarship leading to a PhD in Health Research in 2002.

Jeff Harrison is the author of forty-one professional articles and three book chapters. Most recently he published the following book:  “Essentials of Strategic Planning in Healthcare” (2010), Health Administration Press, Chicago, Illinois. The second revision of this book was published in 2015. Additionally, Jeff has given fifty five National and International presentations to thousands of healthcare executives.  His areas of expertise include:  “Strategic Planning”, “Management of Change,” and “Healthcare Technology”.

 Jeff is a Certified Healthcare Executive and a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. He was selected one of the “Top 100 Health Administration Professors”, by MHA Guide in January 2013. Additionally, he was selected to the “Most Influential People in Jacksonville Health Care”, in June 2013, by the Jacksonville Magazine. He is a member in the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) and the AcademyHealth. He serves on the Editorial Board for the journal “Health Care Manager” published by Lippincott, Williams and Wilkins.

Initially, HCG provided strategic planning and healthcare marketing services which led to the publication "Essentials of Strategic Planning in Healthcare". This book was published by Health Administration Press which is a joint venture between the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA).

Debra Harrison, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, is the Vice President of Clinical Analytics for Amera Medical Review (AMR), a revenue enhancement company assisting hospitals. She is also an Adjunct Professor for the University of North Florida in the Doctoral of Nursing Practice (DNP) program and is working with MEDI, an Executive Coaching firm focused on healthcare executives. She was the Chief Nursing Officer for Mayo Clinic in Florida in Jacksonville from 2006 - 2016. The Florida campus of Mayo Clinic includes a large outpatient practice and a 304 bed hospital. Prior to coming to Florida in 2006, she held a variety of positions at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, including Nurse Administrator for Critical Care.

She obtained her Bachelors & Master's Degrees in Nursing from Winona State University in Minnesota and her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of North Florida. She is an Assistant Professor of Nursing, College of Medicine, Mayo Clinic and has board certification as Nursing Executive, Advanced.

Areas of expertise include quality, patient safety, advanced practice nursing, transformational leadership and Magnet designation. Professional memberships include AONE, ANA, AACN and Sigma Theta Tau International.
